THE SYNOPSIS

Keshav has a simple life problem: he loves Zara, but Zara has moved on. She is engaged to someone else. One night, out of the blue, Zara texts him. She asks him to come to her hostel room—Room 105—because she misses him. Overjoyed, Keshav rushes there with his friend Saurabh. But when they arrive, they don't find love waiting for them. They find Zara dead. The police want to close the case as a suicide, but Keshav knows it was murder. Driven by guilt and love, he embarks on an amateur investigation to find her killer.

THE REVIEW

This book marks a shift for Mr. Chetan Bhagat from pure romance to the "unlove story" thriller. The pacing is electric. From the moment Keshav enters Room 105, the book becomes a page-turner. The chemistry between Keshav and Saurabh is the highlight; their banter provides comic relief in a dark story.

The plot touches on serious issues like the Kashmir conflict and political corruption, but it never gets too heavy. It remains a "whodunit" mystery at its core. While the writing is simple and sometimes repetitive, the suspense keeps you hooked. You will suspect every character at least once. The climax is twisted and unexpected, although some might find the ending a bit dramatic.

It is not a literary masterpiece, but it is pure entertainment. It captures the desperation of lost love and the lengths a person will go to for closure.

Best Quote:
"When you truly love someone, you don't judge them by their past. You accept it and protect their future."

REVIEWER'S NOTE

Personal Takeaway:
I picked this up expecting a cheesy romance and ended up finishing it in one sitting because I had to know who the killer was. It’s like watching a Bollywood movie in book form—drama, friendship, and suspense. If you want a book that doesn't tax your brain but keeps your heart racing, this is it.
