Title: The Curse of Comparison
If you want to be miserable, there is a very easy recipe: Open social media and look at someone else’s vacation photos. In the modern world, we do not suffer from a lack of resources; we suffer from an abundance of comparison.
We compare our "Behind-the-Scenes" with everyone else’s "Highlight Reel." We see their promotions, their travels, and their happy relationships, and we feel inadequate. We forget that photographs are static; they capture a split second of a smile, not the argument that happened five minutes before.
Comparison turns friends into rivals and admiration into envy. It makes us run a race we never signed up for. The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday. Your journey has a different map, a different timeline, and a different destination. Stop looking at their clock; your time is yours.
